Well... the year is winding down and here's to a better year in 2010. I sure hope the economy improves and the work market gets better. We have stuggled this past year due to the house building being in a slump, but if we can keep our heads above water this year I think we'll begin to see the light. Couple BIG things will be paid off in 2010. So here's a GREAT BIG "Happy New Year" to all my family and friends. May this new year bring good health and prosperity to all...

Thanksgiving Skiing!!!

WOW what a great weekend we had. Billy, Shane, Braxton and myself went to Red River, NM for Thanksgiving. Shane and Braxton went skiing while us old folks stayed on steady ground. Sure looked fun though, may next time we go Billy and I will get brave enough to try a little skiing. Billy was SICKKKK when we got there and finally started feeling better late on Friday. Hope to get to do this again next year.

This has been a slow week at work. Nice for a change, but slow... Gotta go to Ft Worth tomorrow to see the doctor about my neck - think I'll go by Hancock Fabrics when I get finished and pick out some material for the girls a new shirt. They are wanting zebra stripes... Maybe they'll have some in color, like PINK!!!!

Sunday, November 15, 2009

What a great Sunday this was - today our church celebrated it's 3 year anniversay, my husband, Shane and the kids all went - had a pot luck dinner after sevices, but there were so many people there that Billy wanted to go to the cafe and not wait in line. I made an apple cake and squash casserole... hope it was good. I am so very blessed....

Shane and the kids met us at 2nd Monday Trade days this weekend in Bowie - the girls was begging for everything they saw that was either peace signs or zebra print - so mema went to Walmart and bought some material - went home and dusted off the ole sewing machine and made both girls a shirt out of peace sign material. I see more sewing in the future!!!

OMG... I had forgotten just how dysfunctional my family was. Such drama that my cousin Patricia, Carolyn's sister, had to have at the funeral. Guess we all have dysfunctional families at some degree, but I think mine tops the cake!!!

My heart is saddened today - my cousin, Carolyn, passed away on Saturday - she will be greatly missed, especially by her loving husband of 50 years. I know she is rejoycing with Jesus and is smiling down from heaven today on us all!!!

Well...I've been having problems trying to get logged onto my blog - finally got my password reset so hopefully I'll be able to start blogging again. So much has happened since my last blog. Braxton, my 10 year old grandson is in whats called the BIC Unit at B'port school. This unit is for kids who have a behavior problem. He's been diagnosed with ADHD and has been "labeled" a problem child since kindergarden. Well, last Tuesday the teacher placed him in room by himself and he locked the door. So what do they do but call the police. Braxton was taken to the police department and charges were filed for disruption of the educational process and the teacher filed charges for assault - seems her thumb got shut in the door. It's a sad day when a 10 year old has to be taken to jail instead of his butt being busted by the principal as in old times... My son and daughter-in-law have both told them to whip him but the school says they are not allowed to do that any more. What will our school system be in the future when the teachers can't have any authority over the students. No wonder there is so much violence in our school systems.... We know Braxton needs punishment, but not juvinile probation or jail!!!!

Had a great weekend - went on a motorcycle trip with our friends, David and Carla. Headed out for Red River, NM Thurs evening, made it to Amarillo and ate at the Big Texan Steak House. M-M GOOD!!!! Made it into Red Rvier Friday afternoon. Got caught in mountain rain riding over the pass. Was cold in the mornings and rainy in the evenings. We got up Saturday and headed out to ride the Enchanted Circle. Stopped at "Taos Pueblo", the oldest indian town in the US. The Taos indiands still live there. Made it back home safely on Monday.

Finally it's FRIDAY. Gonna get up in the morning and take our Harley for a new tire and oil change to get it ready for our little trip next week. Learning all about Facebook - found a long lost friend and contacted her. We were attached at the hip when we were younger - we lived next door to each other and if she wasn't at my house I was at her's. Grew up in the 60's and boy did we have a good time!!! Lots of memories.

What a beautiful Monday Morning - the weekend just wasn't long enough!!!! Been having the strangest dreams at night. Not sure where that's coming from. Think we might go on a short motorcycle on Labor Day weekend with David and Carla- not sure where we're going yet. Would really like to go to the mountains. Oh well we'll see, have to get the groups decision!!

Boy am I glad the weekend is over!!! This was our family get-together at our house. Everyone had a good time and the weather was fabulous, not too hot as times in the past. Paul cooked his mouth watering brisket, sausage and "meat falling of the bone" ribs and as usual WE ALL ate too much, but it sure was good!! Braxton was able this year to get up on the knee board the first time he tried. He was so excited. By the end of the day all the kids were sunburned, even with sunscreen.
Well, another 364 days until we do it all again.

Thursday, July 23, 2009

Finishing up the day at work. Trying to get the house and yard all cleaned and ready for the big family get-together next weekend. It's fun to have all our family and friends over, but it sure is ALOT of work before and after it's all over.
I wish Madison well at the NBHA World Championships, she's already advanced to the finals on Saturday out of over 700. Haven't heard from Amy today, so not sure hhow she did. We'll be cheering her on on Saturday. Way to go!!!

My heart is very sad today - I learned last night that my daughter-in-law has asked my son for a divorce. Seems she needs to have more "fun" in her life. They have been married for 10 yrs and have 3 beautiful children who adore their father. I am hoping for a reconciliation. Marriage is probably the most difficult job anyone can ever have in their life time. It's something you have to work at daily and when those days come when your not having "fun" the next day may totally be joyous. I love you both very much and will be praying for all.

LOVE THE NEW OFFICE

Almost a week has gone by in our new offices at work. Our old office space was VERY small and cramped - also could it get VERY LOUD when we all had hard of hearing patients at our desks. I had only been there right at a year and it was too small. Not sure how Amy and Barb was able to tolerate the cubicles before I came and made it even smaller It has been so nice to be able to actually interview patients in a quiet area. I LOVE MY JOB and also the people I'm so priviledged to be able to work with. Thanks so making me feel at home over this past year!!!!

Monday Morning and New Office!!!

WOW, here we are in our new office - of course nothing is working right - lots of computer issues. Oh well, it'll get better. So good to be able to see out the window to a bright sunny day!!! -
Had the kids all weekend long - Amanda went to Tyler and met Shane for the weekend. Saturday I took the kids down the road to where some wildflowers were blooming and took some pictures. We had a great time, but sure was glad to have the house to myself Sunday evening. When they are all together they are quite a handful!!!!

Graduation 2009

Friday, June 5, 2009, started off an exciting day as Barbara, Amy and I were able to finally move ours offices to the 2nd floor. We now have a privarte area in which to interview patients and WINDOWS!!!!
Later that afternoon Michael, Braxton, Brittny, Lindsay and myself headed to Mineral Wells to witness a very joyous occation. We first went to Jordan's house to see him before he headed to the school to prepare for graduation. Ciara was there from San Antonio so for the fisrt time in over 6 years I had all my grandbabies together. Picture Time!!! After a few pictures at the house we all headed to Ram Stadium. I know that Kim was smiling down from heaven as Jordan walked across that stage to receive his high school diploma.
I love a you Jordan and I'm so very proud of you for all your accomplishments throughout your high school years. May you have many, many more great accomplishments in your lifetime.

May I begin by SALUTING the men and women who fight daily to keep our country safe to live in. THANK YOU!!!!
Billy and I had made plans to go on a motorcycle trip this weekend and I was able to leave work early on Thursday, so as soon as I got home we loaded up the Harley and took off. We had made plans earlier to go to Nashville with friends, but they were not able to go, so we decided to go to New Mexico instead. We headed up 287 to Vernon and then headed west. By sundown we had made it as far as Paducah, TX. Being a small town there was only one motel. I new the building had a familiar look to it, so as we signed in I asked what the building used to be. The man behind the counter smiled and asked me if I really wanted to know, I told him yeah and he told me it used to be a funeral home. I laughed and asked him if the spirits were friendly!!We slept very well without any ghost!!
Friday morning we left there heading for Ft. Sumner, New Mexico. We wanted to see the grave site of Billy the Kid. We arived in Ft. Sumner around 1pm(our time) after taking a wrong turn out of Clovis, which took us about 50 miles out of the way. We went to the "Billy the Kid Museum" there in town. While in the museum it started raining very hard, once the rain stopped we got back on the motorcycle and headed for the grave site just outside of town. There are 3 graves, Billy the Kids and 2 of his buddies that are encased in a metal fence. Seems that someone from Granbury, Texas stole "The Kids" headstone some years back. You know there is a war going on between Hico, TX and Ft.Sumner of who actually has the authentic burial place. Well, upon leaving the grave site it looked like it was going to storm so we went back to town and found a motel, Super 8 not Heavenly Devine Motel!!!
Saturday morning while eating breakfast in Vaughn it began to ran, so we doned our rainsuits and headed to Ruidoso. Upon ariving in Ruidoso we headed for Inn of the Mountain Gods Casino. I put $30 in a $1 machine, didn't last long, only 5 pulls and it was gone! So I headed for a quarter machine. Found a "Wheel of Fortune" and put $20 in, couple hits and it landed on the button for the wheel to turn. Ended up with $92, finialy quit when I still had $50. The local indian tribe had tables set up by the main entrance and were selling some of their handmade crafts. I bought a heart shaped necklace made up of an elks antler. We left there and headed over the mountain to Cloudcroft, ate lunch and was on the road again. We were suppose to have taken Hwy 82 east out of Cloudcroft, but again we took a wrong turn and headed west. "Of course you know it was my fault that we went the wrong way". You ladies know what I'm talking about!!! When we realized that we had gone the wrong way it was too far to turn around so we got out the old map and headed for El Paso. Oh well, never been to El Paso! We stopped at the Harley Davidson Dealership there. I've never seen a Harley Dealership soooo big, guess that's why they have the slogan "Largest in the World". Bought a few shirts, you know you have to have a new shirt a Harley Shop!!! Left there and headed for Van Horn and spend the night.
Got Sunday morning and headed home. The rain stayed in front of us most of the day. caught a picture of a rainbow. What a great ending for a great trip.
What a great time we had just being together. Love ya honey!!!!

Hopefully today I'll get my new wireless card (the old one died) and I'll be able to start blogging again from home and putting on pic's, yippy!!! Summers almost here and school will out soon. Several weeks back Papa told Braxton if he could stay out of trouble until school was over he'd buy him a "Cricket". It's a youth 22cal rifle. His Papa and daddy has taught him from an early age safety and rules about gun's.

WHERE'S SPRING!!!!

Boy, oh boy I'm sure ready for Spring to come and stay instead of winter trying raise it's ugly head again and again. Gosh only about 8 weeks of school left. Jordan will be graduating and hopefully Braxton will be moving up a grade. He is such a precious child, but he acts up so bad in school that he stays in an alternative education and not in regular school. Amanda has heard of an illness called "Allergic Tension Fatigue Syndrome" and we would like to find out more about it. He is suppose to be diagnosed with ADHD. The "ATFS" has to do with specific allergies that cause a child to act out. They say that ADHD is misdiagnosed when it should be ATFS. Maybe we'l get him to Cooks and find out more about it.

I have special Birthday wish for Amy who works beside me, I wish you a VERY, VERY Happy Birthday and MANY, MANY more!!!!

Wish I had a picture so you all could see what a great smile he has, but he is VERY camera shy. One day I'll sneak up on him and get his picture. Happy Birthday Michael and many, many more!!!! Love always Mema and Papa.

OMG - What A Hunk!!!!

OMG!!! Amanda, her mother and sister ,along with myself went to see Trace Atkins and Craig Morgan last Saturday. The concert was previously scheduled for Decemeber 8th but had been cancelled and rescheduled for Feb 21st. I had purchased 2 tickets on the 19th row seats 5 and 6 for myself and Amanda, a week later I called and ask to purchase 2 more tickets next the 2 I already had. I gave the first 2 tickets to Brenda and Shelby for Christmas and was to pick up the other 2 tickets at the box office when we got there. Brenda and Shelby had gotten lost and was running a little late. Amanda waited for them in the parking lot and I went ot the box office and got our tickets. As I was standing waiting for them to get there I happened to look at the tickets and noticed that they were for row 6 seats 17 and 18. As they were walking up to the door I told them I had bad news and good news - bad news was we wouldn't be sitting together, but the good news is - and then I showed Amanda the new tickets and she screamed so loud. Craig Morgan came out 1st, then Trace Atkins - man-o-man - what a hunk!!!! We had so much fun, just girls night out. Amanda and I stayed at Howard Johnsons just 2 blocks away.
Jordan's birthday was Friday February 27th - he turned "18". Happy Birthday and many, many more. I am so very proud and love you so very much!!!

Carination Pic's

Saturday was the "The Carination" at Mineral Wells High School. It's a tradition that's been going on for many. many years. It's simular to prom where they dress up in formal attire, they say Prom is more casual. Jordan said he and Faith had so much fun. You both look so FABULOUS!!! I love you and am so very proud of you Jordan.

Boy has distric play been tuff. We played Azle on Friday who I believe was from the land of the Jolly Green Giant - man those boys were tall!!! The shortest I beleive was 6'2". We got beat by around 30 points. We were to play Saginaw on Tues, but the weather messed things up. We will play them tonight, we've beat them once - hope to win again. I am hoping that they can win their disctrict. (Jordan #24) GOOD LUCK!!!
